Woodwork that Holds the Memory of the Forest.

When we built the brewery, we wanted to honour the trees that were felled and make careful use of their wood.
Giving form to that wish is Yukimushi WØRKS, a workshop based in Rankoshi. Using timber from this land, they have created flat plates, coasters and chopsticks.
The pieces are made from three species, each with its own character:
Kihada, with a soft, pale golden tone; Enju, with a deep, lustrous dark brown; and Onigurumi, a warm, subdued brown.
“The grain is proof that the tree once lived. It shows the strength that allowed it to withstand the forces of nature,” says Yukimushi WØRKS.
These items invite you to reflect on the time that has accumulated at Mori no Brewery and on the memories held within the forest’s trees.

Chopsticks

Born from a wish to make full use of the forest’s trees, these chopsticks are made from offcuts that would otherwise go unused.
Crafted in two woods, Kihada and Onigurumi, they come in two sizes, S and M. Enjoy the gentle warmth of wood each time you hold them.

Kihada

With its pale golden surface, Kihada gently highlights the colours of food. Its smooth texture gives a clean impression. The inner bark has long been valued as a medicinal ingredient and has supported daily life in Hokkaido.

Onigurumi

Onigurumi is characterised by a slightly greyish brown colour and fine grain, which ages into an even more subdued and calm appearance. Its nuts are an important food source for forest animals, making it one of the trees that helps sustain the forest’s natural cycle.

Yuki Inoue

Yukimushi WØRKS

Born in Osaka in 1989, he spent his early childhood in Kobe before moving to the Netherlands and Denmark at the age of ten due to his parents’ work. After returning to Japan, he enrolled at a university in Shizuoka. Following graduation, he worked in the hotel industry while developing a deep passion for mountaineering. In 2013, he relocated to Niseko, where he worked as a mountain guide alongside employment at a furniture workshop. After later moving to Rankoshi, he founded Yukimushi WØRKS in 2022. Aside from learning the fundamentals at a furniture workshop, he is largely self-taught, creating his woodwork through a distinctive process of hands-on experimentation and continual trial and error with his tools.
